Clearer forms
Group the inputs, such as pay, location, pension and the costs of working, and add short hints on what to enter in each field.
Independent product · Redesign preview · 2026
ReturnWorth is my own calculator product for parents planning leave and a return to work. This page presents a redesign preview that has not been deployed; the live site at returnworth.com still uses the older design.

All images are captures of an undeployed redesign preview, not of the live site: returnworth.com still runs the older design. Calculator figures come from synthetic example inputs, not real household data.

01 / The brief
ReturnWorth is an independent product that I own and build; it is not a client commission. It brings together five calculators for decisions around parental leave and returning to work: maternity pay, return to work, childcare versus salary, career break and part-time salary.
The redesign shown here is a preview and has not been deployed; returnworth.com still runs the older design. It focuses on clearer forms, results presented beside the assumptions behind them, and the technical SEO of the calculator pages. The figures in the calculator captures come from synthetic example inputs, not real household data.
02 / My contribution
As the product’s owner, I am redesigning the calculator experience: the forms, how results and their assumptions are presented, and the technical SEO of the pages. The calculators give planning estimates; they are not financial, tax or legal advice.

03 / The details
Group the inputs, such as pay, location, pension and the costs of working, and add short hints on what to enter in each field.
Show each estimate next to what it assumes and what it leaves out, with a scenario table and links to the official sources used.
Give each calculator its own crawlable page with clear headings, explanatory content and internal links to related tools.
The foundation
The outcome
So far: a redesign preview, shown here through the homepage and the return-to-work calculator on desktop and mobile. It is not in production, and no traffic, revenue or user outcomes are claimed.
